Cain passes on the news to the rest of the Dingles on a sad day for the family and the village at large. Cain and Sam find Belle outside, looking out over the field, and they share their memories. Later, the villagers gather on Main Street to wave Sam and Cain off, as they leave for Scotland on a very personal journey.
